Challenge:

Our client, a Portuguese integrator company that supplies/installs automated paint chambers, asked us for certain rates of renewals of air, temperature and humidity (adjustable after work) within each of the various spaces. We proposed several air treatment units (ATU's) for inflation, since this would be the only way to guarantee different temperature/humidity rates for each space.

In general, each ATU consisted of:

  • pre-filters;
  • inflation fan, which had to be sized for air density at the installation site (above 2 000 m of altitude);
  • evaporative (double function: cool in summer and humidify in winter); electrical resistances (the end customer did not accept gas and the heat pump would have an installation cost that wouldn’t allow the investment);
  • in the extraction we placed ATEX fans with paint-stop filter sets + G4 + activated carbon;
  • we also point out that each module had to be built in our facilities in order to keep the overall budget within the acceptable range of the customer;
